In 1954 Mel Vukovich opened his first insurance office in one of Joe Stancil’s buildings on Main Street. Logging and lumber was a primary industry in Placerville at that time. Hangtown Pharmacy had a coffee shop  and most mornings you could find Mel and other local businessmen having their coffee at the counter, discussing politics and shooting the breeze.

In 1972 an injury forced Mel to retire, leaving wife, Ayriane to step in and take over the daily operations of the office. This in addition to raising their five children. The sometimes hectic  years passed and  after thirty years, Ayriane retired  to open a dress shop in Cameron Park. In 1999 they sold the insurance business to daughter, Aimee & son, Troy who are running it today. 

Having been  involved in the family business for the past thirty years so, Aimee found  the segue an easy one and is pleased to serve your insurance needs.
